Mixing Marijuana and tobacco

Cannabis has changed a lot, with more and more people vaping, using concentrates, and edibles. Something that a lot of people still do is they light it with a cigarette, rolling it directly with tobacco. Some believe that it lowers the costs for those who consume cannabis, helps with lighting faster, is a cultural tradition, and nicotine is something that is augmented through the use of cannabis. This is something that’s constantly up for debate, and it may be something that we should definitely change in recent years.

Tobacco Addiction

While there is a lot of consumption of this, it never actually was something health authorities cared about, and it was seen as a social acceptance in recent years, as smoking tobacco isn’t frowned upon, but marijuana consumption definitely is. Consumption of tobacco is on the decline, and some people do mix these two in order to fight tobacco addiction.

It’s done mostly in Europe though. There’s a few theories why this isn’t popular in the Americas, while the Europeans love this. This is because of how tobacco ended up arriving. It was from Spain, and then went to Cuba and then spread throughout the rest of the place via cigarettes.  Mixing this seems logical. In the US, inhaling and chewing tobacco were commonly used for consumption, and vaping is usually the more common way. The same is for cigarettes, as this is more natural.

The consequences of doing this

The problem with this, is that it is a bit of a risky venture. The US actually carried out a review of the different consequences of this habit, choosing different articles to address this. While it did confirm that they needed more research, there were some harmful effects. First, there was a lower perception of the risk for both marijuana and smoking itself. It also resulted in greater dependence when you used both of these substances.

It also created more subjective effects, especially with the sedative results from marijuana, along with the psychoactive effects that come along with this too. Other research has also found that those that use cannabis and nicotine also have the risk of declining physiological functions, as well as bad mental health, lower satisfaction of life, more problems legally, and less success academically for those who are in school.

Why these Interact

Both tobacco and marijuana have their own effects, and tobacco can increase the THC that’s inhaled within a gram of cannabis.  This basically means the consumers that claim that cannabis and tobacco do increase the effects of cannabis actually were found to be right.

It also was discovered that tobacco does boost the efficiency of the vaporization of THC, by almost 45% of that, especially when you’re smoking the half and half mixture. It can lead to the same effects that smoking pure cannabis does.

It’s true that any plant material that’s in place of tobacco actually can make the vaporization much more efficient, and this is what happens when the hot smoke vaporizes with the THC itself, which results in less being smoked, but you’re also not losing as much cannabis.

In another study, it was found that the effects of this can speed up both the blood pressure and heart rate, which does put someone at risk for a heart attack. Not to mention, while you are smoking cannabis, you’re also smoking a lot of the toxic substances that are here, and there are some toxins in tobacco that are best not smoked. So don’t mix them, it’s damaging, and harmful for your body, mind, and your health as well.
